Castle for sale
Mintia (near Deva), Romania

This 1867m2 property was originally built in 1641. In 1835 it was completely rebuilt to its current classicist style, and became the largest classicist style chateau in Transylvania. It is located 5 kms from Deva on the south side of the river Mures.
The chateau is hidden in the middle of a 5-hectare park, among centuries old trees. There is a fountain in front of the main entrance, and one of the walk pathways behind it leads to a large gazebo, next to a private fishing lake. The building is in good sound condition ready to move in, but requires further renovation, restoration work. I feel the future use of this magnificent Italian Castello like chateau should be clarified before any further work should commence on it.
The land price for this 5-hectare property is significant even without building, and the valuation of the property is far above asking price. However further land to extend the size of this estate is also available if required (Description of the property by the owner).

Price: 1,850,000 EUR

Welcome to our page!
The research of the history of Transylvanian noble families is the aim of this homepage. According to our plans it will give an account of the historical sources referring to these familes: of family archives and their present keeping-places, of different hand-written sources, of funeral orations, scientific researches and publications. The filling up of the database (Transylvanian Family History Database) is in progress. At the moment it contains the titles of all those scientific publications on Transylvanian genealogy, family history and heraldry which appeared in the periodicals Turul (1883–1950), Genealógiai Füzetek (1903–1913), Magyar Családtörténeti Szemle (1935–1944) and Erdélyi Múzeum (1874–1914, 1930–1937). In the same database can anyone concerened find the almost complete list of the family archival fonds of the Transylvanian National Museum Archives (belonging to the Transylvanian Museum Society) in Kolozsvár/Cluj and of that of the Székely National Museum Archives in Sepsiszentgyörgy/Sfântu Gheorghe. (At present both of these archival collections are in the administration of the Romanian National Archives.) The bibliography also contains the titles of those works belonging to our field of interest which appeared in separate volumes.
